The choice is made, the die is cast. Start practicing the introduction – the next Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris!
Before all the inevitable intensification of the deep(er) dive scrutiny of Ms Harris dominates the mass media reportage for the next several days, all Democrats and other voters who desparately want to see the end of Donald J. Trump as President must remember what I said in my last blog [http://paulswhyte.com/politics-matters/end-the-nightmare-please] RESIST undermining the ticket. Instead, get on board, show enthusiasm and never let up on challenging Trump and his Republicans deceit, lies and misinformation at every turn.
The Trumpian smear campaign has already launched with the President himself earlier today characterizing Ms Harris as “nasty,” ” disrespectful to Joe Biden” and “just about the most liberal person in the U.S. Senate.” Doubling down yet again on his most recent favourite tactic of portraying Democrats in general as radical leftist socialists seeking to destroy everything good about (his) America, the President incites and intensifies fear and hatred amongst his fervent cultist followers. Put on your ‘noise-cancelling’ headphones, do the hard work to find out and understand what positions and policies Biden and Harris actually support and propose to enact if elected, and then and only then amplify and communicate those issues far and wide to all others.
Enjoy this historic day of the announcement for the first black woman, daughter of immigrants, to the Vice Presidential ticket for Democrats. Steel yourself for what will undoubtedly be the nastiest campaign in living memory. Oh and give a small smile to the prospect of Kamala Harris destroying Mike Pence in the upcoming VP debate, I can hardly wait to watch.
